# Maple > Maple is an open-source observability platform for traces, logs, and metrics, built on OpenTelemetry. Send OTLP from any instrumented app; there are no proprietary agents. For AI agents and automation, use the resources below. ## Documentation Append `.md` to any docs URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`, to receive the raw markdown source. - [Docs index (Markdown)](https://maple.dev/docs.md) - [Docs index (HTML)](https://maple.dev/docs) - [Full documentation, single file](https://maple.dev/llms-full.txt) - Example: [https://maple.dev/docs/getting-started/introduction.md](https://maple.dev/docs/getting-started/introduction.md) ## Pricing One plan: $39 a month with 100 GB each of logs, traces and metrics included, then $0.30 per GB per signal; 5,000 browser sessions included, then $0.002 per session; product events free during beta. - [Pricing (Markdown)](https://maple.dev/pricing.md) - [Pricing (HTML)](https://maple.dev/pricing) ## Data regions Maple Cloud runs in the United States and the European Union (Frankfurt). An organization picks its region at creation; its telemetry is stored and processed there. Same price in both. - [EU hosting (Markdown)](https://maple.dev/eu.md) - [EU hosting (HTML)](https://maple.dev/eu) ## Changelog Maple product updates, one entry per shipped change. The index enumerates every entry. Append `.md` to any changelog URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`, to receive the raw markdown source. - [Changelog index (Markdown)](https://maple.dev/changelog.md) - [Changelog index (HTML)](https://maple.dev/changelog) - [RSS feed](https://maple.dev/changelog/rss.xml) ## Roadmap What has shipped, what is being built, and what is being explored. - [Roadmap (Markdown)](https://maple.dev/roadmap.md) - [Roadmap (HTML)](https://maple.dev/roadmap) ## Features One page per capability: tracing, session replay, logs, metrics, service catalog, error tracking, MCP, Kubernetes. Append `.md` to any feature URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`, to receive the raw markdown source. - [Distributed Tracing](https://maple.dev/features/distributed-tracing.md) - [Browser Sessions](https://maple.dev/features/browser-sessions.md) - [Product Events](https://maple.dev/features/product-events.md) - [Log Management](https://maple.dev/features/log-management.md) - [Metrics & Dashboards](https://maple.dev/features/metrics-dashboards.md) - [Service Catalog & Map](https://maple.dev/features/service-catalog.md) - [Error Tracking](https://maple.dev/features/error-tracking.md) - [Alerting](https://maple.dev/features/alerts.md) - [AI & MCP Integration](https://maple.dev/features/ai-mcp-integration.md) - [Kubernetes Monitoring](https://maple.dev/features/kubernetes-monitoring.md) ## Use cases Worked debugging stories, step by step. Append `.md` to any use-case URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`, to receive the raw markdown source. - [API Performance](https://maple.dev/use-cases/api-performance.md) - [E-Commerce Observability](https://maple.dev/use-cases/ecommerce-observability.md) - [Microservices Debugging](https://maple.dev/use-cases/microservices-debugging.md) ## Comparisons Maple against Datadog, Grafana, New Relic, Dash0, SigNoz, Axiom, Better Stack, Honeycomb. Each page tabulates the differences with who has the edge on each row, prices one reference month on both at list price, and cites the vendor pages it was checked against, with dates. Append `.md` to any comparison URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`, to receive the raw markdown source. - [Comparisons index (Markdown)](https://maple.dev/compare.md) - [Comparisons index (HTML)](https://maple.dev/compare) - [Maple vs Datadog](https://maple.dev/compare/datadog.md) - [Maple vs Grafana](https://maple.dev/compare/grafana.md) - [Maple vs New Relic](https://maple.dev/compare/new-relic.md) - [Maple vs Dash0](https://maple.dev/compare/dash0.md) - [Maple vs SigNoz](https://maple.dev/compare/signoz.md) - [Maple vs Axiom](https://maple.dev/compare/axiom.md) - [Maple vs Better Stack](https://maple.dev/compare/better-stack.md) - [Maple vs Honeycomb](https://maple.dev/compare/honeycomb.md) ## Guides Evergreen explanations of application performance monitoring, observability, OpenTelemetry, and the tools used to operate production software. - [Guides index](https://maple.dev/guides) - [What is APM, and why is it important?](https://maple.dev/guides/what-is-apm) - [What is Apdex, and how do you use the score?](https://maple.dev/guides/what-is-apdex) - [Uptime monitoring with traces and HTTP checks](https://maple.dev/guides/uptime-monitoring) - [What is observability?](https://maple.dev/observability) - [What is OpenTelemetry?](https://maple.dev/opentelemetry) - [Best open-source observability tools](https://maple.dev/best-open-source-observability-tools) ## Maple API REST API for the Maple observability platform, base URL `https://api.maple.dev/v2`. Bearer auth with a Maple API key (`maple_ak_…`); JSON in and out; every error is a `{ "error": { "_tag", "type", "code", "message" } }` envelope; 600 requests/minute per key with `Retry-After` on 429. - [Maple API guide](https://maple.dev/docs/reference/api.md): authentication, conventions, errors, rate limits - [OpenAPI 3.1 specification (JSON)](https://maple.dev/openapi.json): every operation has an operationId, description, typed parameters and response schemas - [Interactive API reference](https://api.maple.dev/v2/docs) - [Same spec served by the API](https://api.maple.dev/openapi.json) ## MCP server Maple exposes its API to AI agents as a hosted Model Context Protocol server over Streamable HTTP at `https://api.maple.dev/mcp`. Authenticate with a Maple API key as a Bearer token, or let the client complete the OAuth flow advertised at `https://api.maple.dev/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp`. - [MCP server guide](https://maple.dev/docs/reference/mcp.md): connecting Claude, Cursor, and other clients; available tools - [MCP server manifest (server.json)](https://maple.dev/.well-known/mcp.json), also at https://maple.dev/.well-known/mcp/server.json and https://api.maple.dev/.well-known/mcp.json - [AI & MCP feature page](https://maple.dev/features/ai-mcp-integration.md) ## Command line tool The official `maple` binary is a standalone observability stack for local development: one process on localhost that receives OpenTelemetry and serves a full dashboard and query CLI. No account, no Docker, and no hosted service required. It replaces the collector + Jaeger + Prometheus + Loki + Grafana compose stack. The same CLI can optionally talk to a hosted workspace. - [Maple Local (Markdown)](https://maple.dev/local.md) - [Maple Local (HTML)](https://maple.dev/local) - Homebrew: `brew install Makisuo/tap/maple` - Install script: `curl -fsSL https://maple.dev/cli/install | sh` ([source](https://maple.dev/cli/install)) - [Releases on GitHub](https://github.com/MapleTechLabs/maple/releases) - [CLI reference](https://maple.dev/docs/reference/cli.md) ## SDKs and instrumentation Maple ingests OpenTelemetry, so any OTel SDK works unmodified. The Effect SDK and the per-language guides are documented here. - [Instrumentation overview](https://maple.dev/docs/instrumentation.md) - [Effect SDK](https://maple.dev/docs/sdks/effect.md) - [Repository](https://github.com/MapleTechLabs/maple) ## Brand Logo, wordmark, colors, and type, with a downloadable kit.
